MINISTRIES

Mount Elon Baptist Church believes in the Great Commission as given by our Lord Jesus Christ in Matthew 28:18-20.  We are also committed to the Great Commandment as given in St. Mark 12:28-31, to love God with all our heart and soul , and to love our neighbors as we do ourselves.   At Mt. Elon we purpose to seek out and present the Gospel to the lost in our world and local community, and to disciple and grow Christians in their walk with our God.  Our Ministry Programs are aimed at striving to attain  these goals of ministering to our world.

Children Ministry
“Lo, Children are an heritage of the Lord..” Psalm 127:3     As parents God has richly blessed us with precious children.  Along with this blessing comes a huge responsibility of raising these little ones to become mature adults.  We have at Mt. Elon provide Gods’ love and care to our children and develop them in becoming Christians.  From the nursery through age 12, we teach the children strong Biblical principles,
the story of Jesus, stories of  Biblical characters, and application to their young lives.

Children Ministry includes music, learning activities, and fun stuff.  Ministry includes Vacation Bible School in the summer, Children’s Choir,  GA’s, and RA’s.  There is much more to write about so keep in touch.

Adult Ministry
Adult Ministries carry us from age 19 on through our seniors.   The College and Careers Class, the Young Adult Class, the Family Years Class and the Senior Classes are all designed to minister to members in various stages of their lives.  Each group often has its own fellowship activities in addition to fellowship with the church in general.  The task of each class is to encourage the members in their walk with the Lord through their everyday experiences.

There is more to follow when someone who know about all this can write it.

WMU
Women’s Missionary Union has been in the Baptist  Convention for many years.  It is an organization that brings together women in the church to study, support, and be involved in missionary activities.  The WMU meets once a month on Wednesday night.  WMU presents programs to the church family about missionary activity as well.  In addition, WMU also provides help to the GA’s organization within the church.
The WMU director will provide more information .

Men’s Ministry
Formerly know as the “Brotherhood,”  Men’s Ministry has been in the Baptist Church for many years.  It includes men from ages 19 and up.  Men’s Ministry is traditionally geared toward missionary activity, but also includes ministry to today’s man and the difficulties and challenges he faces.  Men’s Ministry also is a big brother to the RA group at Mt. Elon, and supports activities of the young boys.

Missions
Mt. Elon is committed to missionary efforts, be it in our community, state, nation or internationally.  In the past we have been active in these areas of mission efforts along with our youth mission activities.
The Mt. Elon membership has contributed both dollars and manpower to missions in addition to prayer support.  More to come.
