Here at Mt. Elon Baptist Church we believe that Jesus loves people and it is our mission to do the same! We have assembled a staff who believes that people are a priority and that showing them a Christ-like love is paramount. So, we'd love for you to get to know the people who lead our church on the weekends and throughout the week.
Position: Lead Pastor
Rob came to Mt. Elon in May 2009 after he and his wife sensed God calling them to reach out to Darlington and Lee Counties. Rob has served on church staffs since 2004 in various capacities including children minister, student minister, associate pastor, and senior pastor. Rob and Lindsay have been married since 2004 and have two children.
After graduation from Lugoff-Elgin High, Rob attended North Greenville University playing football for the Crusaders. After graduation from NGU with a degree in Christian Ministry, Rob attended Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He obtained a Masters of Divinity with Biblical Languages.
Rob's favorite food is Mexican, but he loves taking a road trip in order to find a new "hole in the wall." When Rob is not preaching you can find him on the football field or baseball field coaching the next generations rising stars. It's also not hard to convince him to take a hunting or fishing trip and spend a little time with "the guys".
His favorite passage of Scripture is Joshua 25:15. He is thankful God called him to lead the congregation of Mt. Elon Baptist Church.
Position: Family Ministry Pastor
Alex became the family pastor at Mt. Elon in August 2018. While Alex has served in a variety of roles in churches in high school and college, this is his first full time ministry position.
Alex grew up in Hartsville and after graduating from Hartsville High, he attended Lander University (Go Bearcats!), where he majored in music. He is currently working on a Masters of Divinity at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Alex enjoys singing and being a part of the Hartsville Community Chorus as well as directing the Hartsville Children’s Chorale. He also enjoys spending time with family, watching sports, and playing board games.
His favorite passage of Scripture is Philippians 1:21. He is thankful to be in the area where he grew up and to be leading the youth and children at Mt. Elon Baptist Church.
Position: Administrative Assistant
